The Air Direct wirelessly transfers RAW and JPG images to your software as if you were shooting with a cable. Connect supported Fujifilm, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and other DSLR, Mirrorless and Medium Format cameras direct to a computer running compatible tethering software. Air Direct’s USB-C protocol and 802.11AC dual band Wi-Fi delivers fast, reliable image transfer and enables all camera control features native to the tethering software – such as live view, loupe, barcoding, bracketing, focus-stacking and countless other features native to tethering software.

The Tether Tools Air Direct Wireless Tethering System is a compact transceiver that provides remote control capabilities as well as high-speed RAW and JPEG image transfer using a computer or mobile device. The Air Direct attaches to a compatible camera via USB-C connection and can be mounted on the camera’s hot shoe. It then creates an 802.11ac ad-hoc Wi-Fi network for connecting to a computer or mobile device. Users of Mac or Windows computers installed with tethering software such as Capture One, Lightroom, Smart Shooter, DarkRoom, Canon EOS Utility, Nikon Camera Control Pro 2, Helicon Remote, AstroDSLR, or Phocus can maintain their workflow without the limitations associated with physical camera-to-computer cables. For select Canon and Nikon cameras, the Air Remote App provides compatibility with iOS or Android devices.

Compatibility issues with macOS Catalina 10.15.2 have prevented users from being able to pair Capture One 20 and Adobe Lightroom with the Air Direct. For more details, along with alternative workflow considerations, please contact Tether Tools customer support.
