Lens Design
Weighing less than three pounds and measuring 10.1″, the lens design is optimized for handheld use. The 5.5 stops of optical image stabilization further aid handheld use by compensating for camera shake. In situations where extra stability is required, the tripod collar foot is Arca-Swiss compatible for use with tripods and monopods.
Linear Motor Autofocus
A Linear Motor autofocus system delivers fast, accurate, and near-silent performance that’s further enhanced by the subject detection algorithms in X-series cameras. Additionally, the lens includes presets designed to minimize focus times, ideal for stopping quick-moving subjects.
Other Highlights
- The lens is fully compatible with the optional 1.4x and 2x teleconverters to further boost reach to 700mm and 1000mm, respectively, without a loss in image quality.
- The lens body incorporates extensive weather sealing to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions when used with a weather-resistant X-series camera body.
