Sigma Announces Trio of Nikon Z Mount Primes for APS-C Cameras
- Sigma has added Nikon Z Mount compatibility to three existing primes in the Contemporary lineup: the 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/1.4, and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN lenses. Created for Nikon’s APS-C format mirrorless cameras, the new primes balance bright, f/1.4 maximum apertures with compact builds. With 35mm equivalent focal lengths of 24mm, 45mm, and 84mm, respectively, there is a Z mount option for nearly every type of photographer in the new batch.
- The new lenses share an AF control algorithm tailored to the Z mount system, as well as in-camera aberration correction on compatible bodies. Beyond this specialization, they align with their previous iterations for Sony, Canon, FUJIFILM, MFT, and L-Mount cameras.
- The 16mm f/1.4 is an ideal choice for street, travel, and landscape photographers looking for an easy prime to carry around. It consists of 16 elements in 13 groups, including two SLD and three FLD elements for sharpness and accuracy.
- The 30mm f/1.4 has an exceptionally adaptable focal length perfect for portraits, events, and everyday carry. Its build includes 9 elements in 7 groups with two aspherical elements to reduce distortions.
- Finally, the 56mm f/1.4 is a compact and adaptable portrait lens, comprising 10 elements in 6 groups, including a pair of aspherical elements and SLD glass to ensure accurate capture.
- All of the new primes are dust and splash resistant for protection against the elements.
